Qualifications include: BA Hons, ACIM, iLM, GRTP, D32/D33, L3 Diploma: High Scope & Early Years, Performing Arts, Lean Management and Counselling… My name is Antoinette, and I am extremely dedicated and passionate about everything Early Years, as the hands-on Manager with a wealth of qualifications & experience as a Nursery Manager, Primary School Teacher, Teaching Assessor and Sunday Sch Teacher at Church… I actively enjoy working closely with the children and their families. Overseeing daily activities and having lots of fun, playing, and engaging with the children and training and supporting the hard-working, knowledgeable and dedicated team. I have a keen interest in maximising potential, continuous self- development, well-being, and resilience for the children and for the team, whilst promoting parent partnerships and engagement in children’s learning and development. I am married with three children.

My name is Kerry and I am the Room Leader based in Pre-school. Working with children has always been my dream job for as long as I can remember. I love that the Lighthouse has that family feel to it, it's amazing to think that all the children that have been here, came due to the word of mouth. I love watching the children grow and develop into their own amazing little personalities. I don';t currently have any children of my own, but I would love to be a mummy one day. I currently live with my fiancé, and I have 1 sister and 1 brother. My interests involve reading, I love sitting down with a good book and getting lost within the pages. I also love photography; I currently own two cameras and love taking pictures and making all the memories possible. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, I am a proud auntie to 3 little boys who sure do keep me on my toes.

My name is Omoh, I joined the Lighthouse Nursery after working as a higher-level teaching assistant in primary schools for 14 years. I love working at the Lighthouse because it feels like a real family. Everyone is so welcoming and supports each other. The children are so unique and very creative. They approach each new activity with awe and wonder. I love watching the children play together. They support each other and show love to their peers. I live with my husband, who the nursery children know as the gardener; and our daughter, who attends The Lighthouse. My interests include arts and crafts, teaching children jewellery making, as well as being active in my church as a Sunday school teacher.

My name is Poppie, I started working at The Lighthouse when I was 16 on a school work experience placement. I really enjoyed my time, learnt so much and so I decided to stay. I continued as an apprentice Early years Educator working across the Baby, Toddler and Pre-school Room. I qualified as a level 2 Early Years Educator and I then I went on to qualify with a level 3 Diploma in Early Years. Over the years I have thoroughly enjoy my time at The Lighthouse, with all the team the children and their families. I enjoy supporting a range of activities with all the children, especially outdoors. I am very close to my family and spend lots of time shopping and getting out and about with my friends and family’s children…

Qualifications include: Paediatric First Aid Training to Ofsted Requirements and a range of other early years qualifications that I have gained since working at The Lighthouse.

My name is Rodney, I am an all-round musician and praise and worship leader and a talented puppeteer, I am married and have four children. Since joining the Lighthouse Nursery it’s been the most fascinating journey for me so far, I came from a very different background of music, performing, and graphic arts. The Lighthouse Nursery has provided me with a home away from home atmosphere interacting with the staff and the children, funny enough I thought I will be the teacher, but I’m learning so much from this experience that it seems like I’m the student. Having raised up my own four children, I am now getting to understand what it looks like from the educator’s perspective, which I find very interesting and beneficial. As one would expect, I encourage the children as well as the staff to enjoy putting every activity we engage in at the nursery through the lens of music and arts in fun and active ways, every activity finds its own music accompaniment. I also prioritise a healthy lifestyle of fitness, exercise and nutrition.

My name is Signe and I joined the Lighthouse nursery in October 2018. I love working in the Lighthouse nursery because of it’s nice and warm family atmosphere with an excellent team and I’ve grown real attachments with the children. I have a grown-up daughter and an adorable grandson, who live in Latvia. My interests are health and nutrition, music, movies, and documentaries

We love to cook nutritious and tasty meals for our children.

Children enjoy the time they spend at nursery. They choose activities from a wide range of toys and equipment available, inside and outdoors. Children settle quickly into the nursery and form close bonds with practitioners. Children are proud of their achievements.

Ofsted

Children's literacy skills are developing quickly. They are able to read familiar words in play situations. In the role-play shop, for example, pre-school children were able to identify the 'open' and 'closed' signs. Practitioners have high expectations of children's progress.

Children's communication skills are well developed. Practitioners ask open-ended questions which prompt children to explain their ideas and thinking. Children gain an understanding of mathematical concepts and pre-school children are beginning to recognise numerals.

Toddlers display increasing levels of independence. They put on their coats and wash their hands before meals. Children are polite and well behaved. They share, take turns and sort out their disagreements independently.
